My career in the liquor industry began ten years ago and throughout that time I have worn many hats, including being both a Wine Buyer and Operations Manager, so I am specially attuned to the needs of retail stores. I have been extremely grateful to have worked along side of and been taught by some of the best in the industry…many of whom I am proud to work with now at The Wine Company.
My love of wine (and other imbibables) can usually be summed up by the phrase “the funkier, the better,” ‘cuz if it’s weird I want to try it. On top of that, give me a gruner veltliner, cab franc, all things Piedmontese or (almost) anything with bubbles. I also have a small permanent section of my heart reserved just for saké.
My biggest belief in this line of work is that wine should always be enjoyable and NEVER intimidating.
Outside of work, I am usually happiest at home hanging with my hounds Kayte (pit) and Charly (rott-shepard) drinking wine on the porch, reading, doing some sort of strange craft project or listening to vinyl records and cheffing dishes with stuff from my garden. I love all things nature, so when not at the house I’m usually up north or exploring nearby parks. I also have a degree in veterinary technology and am an avian/waterfowl volunteer at the Wildlife Rehab Center of MN. Out on the weekend you’ll catch me at a punk or hip-hop show or searching for the best bloody mary in the Twin Cities.
