Alexander Valley Vineyards Rose 2013

Alexander Valley Vineyards 2013 Dry Rosé of Sangiovese, Alexander Valley | Here’s a riper, deeper and more plush rosé for sipping on its own or with poultry, richer oily fleshed fish, or even seasoned ribs. Strawberry saltwater taffy and a rounder, softer texture than our French rosés, sets this apart at the luscious end of the spectrum –a smooth and supple rosé showing Sangiovese from Sonoma’s Alexander Valley has plenty of bounce to craft a softer sided rosé of engaging balance. It is made from 100% Sangiovese that is harvested specifically for rosé, cold soaked for 6 hours until the color and texture is just right, and then fermented at cold temperatures to make for a slow fermentation ensuring it preserves all its aromatic and flavorsome charms.

Food Pairings

The 2008 is truly a unique wine, fit for a variety of occasions, from summer sipping to enjoying with a Thanksgiving turkey. Try the 2008 with a bowl of bouillabaisse or mildly spicy fare like chile marinated shrimp.
