Alma Negra Brut Nature Rose

Alma Negra 2013 Brut Nature, Malbec Rosé Sparkling | 12.8% | From Mendoza's Vistaflores in Tunuyán and Gualtallary in Tupungato stretching from 3,600 to 4,200+ feet, here’s a bottle-fermented sparkling rosé made of Malbec and Pinot Noir that sees eight months on the lees. Scents of framboise croissants, sweet pea, and a chalky carob scent combine to great effect and echo on a palate defined by crunchy red fruit, a talcum chirp to its texture and a sweet hay lifting on the finish. Delightful news from Argentina and Ernesto Catena –thank you!

“The sparking rose, the non-vintage Alma Negra Brut Nature is made from both Malbec and Pinot Noir. I was surprised how good this wine is. The effervescence is a product of the methode champenoise, and the wine, from a relatively cool climate, displays crisp, elegant acids intermixed with strawberry, cranberry and fruit cocktail-like notes. It is medium-bodied and just delicious…it is a heck of a good value in sparkling wine. It can be drunk between now and 2016.”
