Riff Pinot Grigio 2018

Pinot Gris from specially selected vineyards in the Tre Venezie region (Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige) is fermented in stainless steel tanks, followed by maturation on the fine lees for up to four months to give the wine greater textural intensity and depth. Brilliant straw-yellow color with a green tint. Fine, fruity (apples, peaches), forward varietal aromas. Pronounced, clean, elegant, grapey flavor. Light to medium-bodied with a fresh mouth-watering finish. Dry and crisp. Properly cellared, this wine can keep for at least 2 – 3 years.
Wine notes from Alois Lageder

Expert Review

“Seemingly every big-name winegrower wants to ‘extend the brand,’ as the marketing sorts say….One of those entries is a brand called ‘Riff’ (German for reef) created by one of northern Italy’s most famous wine producers, Alois Lageder...With a little astute looking and a lot of discrimination, a producer could put together a swell wine blended from various offerings at a very competitive price. That’s the deal on the riff wines….just the ticket for a summertime aperitif or an ideal keep-it-coming accompaniment to all kinds of food.” Matt Kramer, Wine Spectator
