Anton Bauer Gruner Veltliner Gmork 2009
Grüner Veltliner 2009
Gmörk
12% vol. alc.
Wonderful, brilliant yellow; everything in the nose what one may desire from a Veltliner: multi-layered fruit and multi-layered spice, pepper, nut, apple and exotic; very stimulating bouquet, immediately unfolding finesse; lively bundle, desiring to have the next sip. Grüner Veltliner can be so lovely in this style.
- notes from the winery
A brief additional note. I find kiwi in the flavours of this wine and fresh ground white pepper in the finish. It has a softness that I am beginning to associate with many European whites of the vintage; in fact, across a much wider breadth of appellations than to which one, at least this one, would normally ascribe a vintage characteristic.
