Avante Ribera del Duero 2012

Tineta Avante 2010 Vino de la Tierra de Castilla Y León | 14% | 100% Tinto Fino, the Tempranillo of these here parts, planted more than 50 years ago to the limestone/chalk riverbanks of the Duero River in northwestern Spain, this is mighty Tempranillo full of heady spice box, woodsy notes, that sweet scent of an unlit cigar, and a dense red fruit compote. Dense and brawny in the mouth this is no welterweight but a tour de force of real presence and punch. As ready to be a Winter warmer as it is a partner to any juicy cut of beef.

Very versatile. The better cuts of lamb. Most any meat braised or stewed. Game birds and poultry, especially duck.
