Avignonesi Desiderio Merlot 2007

This is an exotic wine; quite fascinating. Mostly Merlot with come Cabernet Sauvignon. The fragrances are wild and seductive at the same time; definetly rendolent of raspberries and dark chocolate. The mouth is full, densely flavoured of dark fruits and stewed rhubarb. Really fun to drink, high yak value. Notes by LAC. 9/23/2011

Expert Review

$85; 85% sangiovese and 15% cabernet sauvignon; 30 months in new oak; 14.5% alcohol) Good full ruby-red. Extremely floral nose (lavender, violet, rose) also reveals red cherry and blackberry nuances. Full-bodied and velvety, offering mouthcoating flavors of plums macerated in alcohol and chocolate syrup. Finishes very long and smooth, with a persistent chocolatey note. The best Grandi Annate ever. 92 points
