Paitin Roero Arneis Vigna Elsia 2009
The nose shows bakery-like aromas of sweet almond and springtime honeysuckle. This is a full-bodied version of Arneis, probably because of extended sur lie again, yet it’s a fine-boned wine. The palate shows white – yellow fruits in an almost tropical fashion…all the beautiful qualities you look for in a perfect white wine.
- Wine Tasting note by DYB, May 2011
Piedmont is so often celebrated for its red Barolo, Barbera and Dolcetto but the white Arneis reigns as thier loving queen. Serene in its almond nuanced citrus fruit, this wondrous white bears a structuring minerality that follows pleasant aromas that capture your interest. Herbal, fruity, snappy and layered, this prooves Piedmont can excel at whites as well!
