Inama Soave Classico Vigneti Foscarino 2011

Vecchie Vigne [old vine] wine is often thrown around these days but this is in fact from old Garganega with the youngest vines well over 40 years old. Old vines in this case mean low yields of concentrated fruit that in turn yield focused scents and flavors and textures –aromas of pears, chamomile, and fresh almonds that all become flavors and round out into a compelling palate. Textural polish both soft yet firm, this sees bâtonnage to get the most out of the lees while the neutral barriques round them off even further. Soave of an entirely different category.

Lovely golden rod color with a awesomely viscous swirl. Delicious nose of ripe peaches. Mouth of unctuous juiciness. Really yummy finish of sweet almond and a surprisingly zippy freshness. Lovely.
