Barraud 2011 Alliance Pouilly Fuisse
A blend of various parcels of land:"Terres du Perret, la Côte Carmentrant et Vignes Dessus" with vines between 30 and 45 years of age, this is 100% Chardonnay and 100% Pouilly Fuisse. Creamy lemon peels and mellow apple notes greet the nose like a dear friend who picks up where you left off and all these charms and more carry over on the tongue; a sappy Burgundian texture like waxy apple peelings offer gentle citrus and orchard fruit but also a waxy vanilla bean, lightly poached apples, and a mineral punch unique to Alliance with a blossom on the finish that relaxes the finish into an immediately appealing taste of southern Burgundy.
