Barraud Pouilly-Fuisse La Verchere 2005

These southern-facing vines are 40 to 50 years old bestowing upon the wine aromas of citrus fruit and minerality. While it is enjoyable to drink young this wine also offers a promising future.

Expert Review

90 Points - "There is a bit more wood in evidence at present with brioche that set off a very ripe nose of peach, dried herb and straw plus background notes of muscat that give way to opulent and exceptionally rich flavors that retain a fine sense of balance and elegance as the mineral and citrus-infused finish is really quite firm, indeed to the point where there is a chewy character. This is more stylish and sophisticated than the En France if not as powerful and I very much like the delineation here."
