Barraud Pouilly-Fuisse Sur La Roche 2007

Here the thin soils show themselves which in the 2007s is a terrific complexity. The nose is stoney, chalky. Quince, preserved lemons in the flavours with a shimmery steeliness in the finish.

Expert Review

92 Points - "A more reticent nose of white flower, pear and a hint of freshly grilled toast leads to exceptionally rich and full-bodied flavors that really envelope the palate with dry extract that buffers the firm acid spine. This should age beautifully as the balance is impeccable and the overall impression is one of an impressively scaled but complete wine."

92 Points - "Limpid gold. Potent, mineral-dominated bouquet of fresh apple, pear, quince and jasmine, complemented by strong talc and quinine qualities. Offers deeper pit fruits in the mouth, along with ripe citrus, licorice and floral flavors and striking mineral snap. A real mouthful of rocks at this stage, and in need of bottle aging. The finish is juicy and long, with a distinctly talc-y mineral bite and an echo of anise."
