Baumard Savennieres 2010

Biodynamic | Though Chenin Blanc may grow widely throughout the world, there is only one Savennières and theirs remain the touchstone for the most enchanting and penetrating dry Chenin Blanc to be found. Honeycomb, lime leaves and scents of preserved lemon only begin to cover the engaging nose on this wondrous wine. These all translate to fulsome flavors on the palate and ring out in a quivering minerality that offers a spine of acidity and an almost saline seashell finish.
Wine review by Nicholas Livingston, June 30th 2014 (Flower)

"A dry white wine from Chenin Blanc grapes named after its ancient village: Savennières. Schist and sandstone soils on south-facing slopes overlooking the Loire in the Anjou district, near the city of Angers. A unique wine, bone-dry, full-bodied, assertive and lingering on the palate. Not aged in oak, which does not suit this wine. Its richness, complexity and age ability place it among the world’s finest and most distinctive wines."
