Valentin Bianchi Malbec 2009

Blessed by ideal soils, plentiful runoff from the Andes, and a sunny, breezy climate, Mendoza has everything to fosters the rich, ripened fruit that lends deep character to full flavored Malbec. Recognizing this in 1928, Italian Valentin Bianchi planted vines and soon after become a local legend with his wines reaching the finest restaurants in Buenos Ares and beyond to the homes of the people who tried them eating out. Three generations later, the Bianchi family is true to their roots. Harvested by hand from only the ripest clusters, this wine calms down over six months in Fench and American oak. Rustically elegant, this dark glass of wine is full of dark fruit and spice like blackberries and sassafras that swell on the palate and awe with considerable structure, a rich tannic texture, and a full on finish that lifts into a lingering spice. This is exemplary Argentine Malbec at great value.
