Elsa Torrontes 2013

Elsa Bianchi 2013 Torrontés, Mendoza | 13% | Torrontés is in so many ways like those earnest crushes of our salad days –a passing tryst akin to a collegiate summer love. Torrontés as an aromatic variety that may not be mature nor all that sophisticated or complex in an intellectual sense but is always simply charming for its honeysuckle fragrance, its snappy dry structure and all that grapefruit and orchard fruit that helps one while away a sunsoaked summer day, a leisurely picnic or a trip to the beach. For a moment you might mistake her as too sweet for you but then one soon comes to recognize that is your imagination being led by her fruity fragrance because this fragrant white actually expressed a dry wit at its finish –and proves a great guest at dinner.
