Borsao Rose 2017

Bodegas Borsao 2013 Rosé, Campo de Borja D.O., Aragon | 14% | 100% Garnacha | From the Empire of Garnacha comes this charming varietal rosé. Many already know and love the highly acclaimed Borsao Tres Picos for its lusciously rich redition of Garnacha in its red complexion but this is proof these clever folk can make a bright and winsome rosé as fragrant as strawberries and tangy and fresh as freshly peeled citrus –and mineral as one could hope to sip or else pair with any number of foods from hard rind cheeses to spicy Thai. This is exceptional, bright and balanced and will no doubt flesh out further with a little more time in bottle –but why wait?

Expert Review

88 Points - "Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Sep/Oct 14
(all garnacha and all stainless steel): Pale orange. Strawberry and redcurrant on the nose, with hints of rhubarb and fresh flowers adding complexity. Light-bodied and dry, offering brisk, refreshingly bitter red berry and orange pith flavors. Finishes clean and dry, with good cut and a repeating redcurrant note."

Food Pairings

Steaks, pasta with meat sauces, sausages the spicier the better. Barbecued ribs or chicken. Burgers and brats.
