Vega Sindoa Barrel Fermented Chardonnay 2022

This is a blend of 75% Viura and 25% Chardonnay, coming from Navarra in north-central Spain (Navarra is attached to Rioja on its northeast spine). Viura is a 'blank slate' of a varietal, widely planted in Spain and often shows well when high quality winemaking is at hand or it's blended with other interesting grapes (in this case, Chardonnay). Viura is the treble and the Chardonnay is the bass, playing well together and bringing forth ripe white fruits, apricot skin, and texture on the palate. Ideal as a fuller bodied wine to start the night (especially with thyme dusted olives nearby) or to have with a casual dinner of grilled mixed seafood.
