Boekenhoutskloof Cabernet Sauvignon 6/750 2013

When searching for a burly red, dense with well ripened fruit, heady with spice and sure to deliver punchy tannins and lasting flavours, South African Cabernet Sauvignon is the answer. With warm days and coastal influences, South Africa’s climate is similar to Napa Valley and there I shall rest my case. Cabernet Sauvignon grown here is not the reticent variety that takes decades in barrel although they’re certainly sure to evolve. No these are ripe Cabernets with generous cigar box, full brambly fruit, and a penchant for lingering aromas and a lasting finish.

Food Pairings

Meat, meat, meat but especially lamb and beef. Game birds, duck, goose, squab. Anything with lots of rosemary.
