Botani Malaga 2011

From old vines in the village of Almachar in Spain's Málaga, this Moscatel is fermented dry and shows the fragrantly beguiling but crisp styling when Moscatel expresses orange blossom, Meyer lemon and honeysuckle in all their fragrant chorus but in a way that finishes fresh and without the sweetness that the nose might suggest. Still crisp and dry, this Moscatel’s heady aromatics almost suggest sweetness even though is closes clean and snappy. A hypnotic fragrance both floral and fruity remains light and nimble on the palate and long onto the finish. A wine for all but especially those who like Torrontes of Argentina, the Albarino from Galicia’s Rias Biaxas, and we who can rock their back into a dry Riesling.
