Boutisse Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2008

From 60 acres of limestone slopes facing south-southeast, this hand picked wonder comes from a Chateau at the very gates of St. Emilion, a UNESCO Heritage site. 88% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1% Cabernet Franc, this is archetypal St. Emilion that spends time on its lees in oak barriques (40% new) yielding a terrific texture and body on the midpalate. The nose is heady with sweet spices, mocha, toast, and caramel that carries onto a smooth palate with elegant tannins making this a very fine vin de garde worthy of enjoying for many years to come.

Food Pairings

Red meats, game, lamb, cheeses -all the classic solutions when you're fortunate enough to have such a Grand Cru right bank Bordeaux in hand.
