Arguably the most exquisite choice for sparkling wine, Blanc de Blancs implies a white wine made from white grapes [exclusively Chardonnay in the case of Champagne] and therefore is seldom as weighty as a Blanc de Noirs for example but instead hovers in the realm of the ethereal. Lofty scents of biscuits and brioche, pastries, marzipan, and penetrating citrus and orchard fruit flavours are the rule.
