Domaine Drouhin Oregon Pinot Noir Laurene 2006

The 2006 Laurène recalls the softer, plusher qualities found in the 2004 vintage, but with the slightly more ample body that 2006 brought to all of our wines. On the nose and on the palate, there is a wealth of deep black berries, red fruits and Dundee Hills spice. The finish is very long, and I expect to enjoy the 2006 Laurène for at least 10 more years! - Veronique Drouhin Boss

92 Points, The Wine Advocate: The 2006 Pinot Noir Laurene (not due to be released until 9/09) is medium/dark ruby colored with an alluring perfume of pain grille, mineral, spice box, cherry, and black raspberry with some blue notes in the background. It has more depth and concentration than the “cuvee classique” with gobs of sweet, ripe fruit, enough structure to evolve for 3-4 years and a 45-second finish. Drink it from 2012 to 2021.

91 Points, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: Medium red. Fresh raspberry and sandalwood on the nose, with rose and cocoa adding complexity. Pliant red berry and dark cherry flavors boast impressive sweetness and purity, with bitter chocolate gaining strength with air. Finishes with excellent lift and cut, repeating the cherry note.

91 points, Wine Spectator: Smooth and focused, this well-mannered, medium-weight wine has fresh, ripe currant and plum flavors, with hints of white pepper and cream as the finish lingers. Drink now through 2014.—H.S.

17/20, Jancis Robinson: Sweet and round and pretty and confident. Very polished and appealing already. The tannins seem much better managed than in earlier vintages with great lift and true flavour too. Drink 2010-20.
