Domaine Drouhin Oregon Pinot Noir 2010

The 2009 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is deep and vibrant, with good color and excellent clarity. Aromatically, the wine is quite open, even opulent, a mix of velvety rose petals, violets and spices. On the palate, the texture is lush and mouth-coating, but well-balanced. Together, they provide definition and intensity, followed by refined, silky tannins. The finish is quite long, with beautiful cherry notes. While the ’09 will age quite well, I won’t hesitate to enjoy it now!
Tasting note from the winery

Expert Review

Stephen Tanzer - 90 Points - Bright red. High-pitched red berry and spice aromas are complicated by notes of candied rose, herbs and white pepper. Suave, silky and precise, offering sweet strawberry and raspberry flavors and a deeper note of bitter cherry. Nicely balanced and pure, with very good finishing clarity and length. There’s something almost Chambolle-like here.

Food Pairings

Pinot Noir is well-suited to pair with poultry, beef, fish, ham, lamb and pork. It will play well with creamy sauces, spicy seasonings and may just be one of the world's most versatile food wines.
