Roserock Chardonnay 6/750 2016

From a site which Véronique Drouhin describes as the Chambolle-Musigny of Oregon, Roserock’s Ancient volcanic soils, ideal elevation range and the unique cooling effect of the Van Duzer corridor produce classic cool-climate Chardonnay bringing together the estate’s three Chardonnay blocks. Fermented and aged half in steel and oak. A long, warm growing season and a relaxed, bountiful harvest has given Chardonnay with freshness, balance and depth. It is a perfect way to debut Roserock. Hints of pear, quince, ripe citron, honeysuckle and pine needle carry on from the nose to the palate. The wine is round and fresh, with only a faint oak presence, and excellent acidity without tartness. There is structure, balance, great texture and an elegant mid-palate, leading to a long finish. It is a wine that will drink well for at least 3-5 years.
