Domaine Drouhin Oregon Chardonnay Arthur 6/750 2016

2012 is shaping up to be an exceptional vintage given the overall quality of the fruit. The grapes came in bursting with flavour and that has given the wines a nice round texture and excellent flavors of fresh forward fruit. I can feel a little more body than either 2011 or 2010, but with no loss of floral aromatics or lightness on the palate. The finish is long. The 2012 Arthur is immediately enjoyable, though one could age it easily for 3-5 years (winery note).

87 Points - Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine, May 2014
"Just as Oregon Pinot Noirs are typically built along lighter and leaner lines, so too is this briskly balanced, reluctantly fruited look at Chardonnay. Quiet elements of green apples and citrus are played against a slightly chalky, minerally component, and, if far from a juicy and outgoing wine, it conveys a nice sense of basic substance and weight. Like many of its California counterparts,
it wants a year or two of aging."
