Bretonniere Muscadet Sevre et Maine 2019

The grape variety is Melon de Bourgogne, the wine is Muscadet. Muscadet is a region on the Atlantic end of the Loire River in France and there Melon de Bourgogne is made into a wine that is as seaboard fresh as the land surrounding. This is often claimed to be the perfect wine for oysters and, in fact, one can smell fresh shucked oyster and sea breezes in the wine. Muscadet wines are light bodied, dry, fresh and crisp. Their great acidity imparts a mouth watering character that gives the wine great immediate appeal. Lemon zest, green grapes, minerality.

Food Pairings

Oysters, mussels, clams anyway but particularly raw. Salads, shrimp and seafood.
