Protocolo Tinto 2009

An absolute standard for a quick grab-and-go red from the bull’s eye of Spain, Vino de la Tierra de Castilla (the sun blessed area around Cuenca south of Madrid). A deeply spiced compote of red plums, blueberries, and pears, this is just the sort of wine to sip all by itself or match up to any number of culinary cannons –a wine for tapas that can work with just about everything. 13.5% alcohol by volume

Expert Review

Wine Enthusiast voted it #2 in the list of Top 50 Best Values of 2011.
89 Dominio de Eguren 2009 Protocolo Red Wine (Vino de la Tierra de Castilla). "One of the best deals in Spanish red wine you’re likely to find. Protocolo has always delivered value but this vintage sets a new high standard for below $10 Tempranillo. It’s deep, ripe and minty on the nose, with berry power foretelling a pure, lush palate that’s packed with berry flavors and light herbal shadings. Impressive and super tasty, especially given the price."
