Drouhin Nouveau Beaujolais 2020

Beaujolais Nouveau 2013 has come and it bears all the strawberry pastille and juicy fruit scents that Gamay can only muster when made by the method of carbonic maceration typical to the region. On the palate it is high toned with a chewy cherry charm, ample tannins, and a bitter cherry bark on the finish that keeps it from being facile. Its simply bright and buoyant, nonchalant fruity fragrance ties it all together into a juicy mouthful of Gamay a la Beaujolais Nouveau and it calls for rich hors d'œuvre finger foods and also the roasted fowl that seem to set our tables now that the mercury has dropped. A cozy solution to keep us from brooding the season away this is a wine to keep us smiling and feeling playful.
