Drouhin Pouilly-Fuisse 2011

More floral than last vintage with some of the minerality of the previous year but more blousy and dulcet in 2011 –speaking in the low tones of a coastal sunbather whose calm demeanor is patient to tell all it knows. Sensual still but more curvaceous and voluptuous than the svelte ballerina. A lovely core of stone fruit meets a rising pitch of unexpected but welcomed acidity on the midpalate and long through the finish. Here is a delicious Pouilly Fuisse expressing its gentler and softer charms which makes for smooth glass to sip to the last drop.

Food Pairings

52°-55°F is the correct temperature to serve a Pouilly-Fuisse. It marries well with hors d'oeuvres, delicately flavored charcuterie, oysters, mussels and any other shellfish.
