Drouhin Volnay 2006

The fresh and high-toned 2006 Burgundy vintage might just be perfect for the likes of Volnay, the softest-spoken (though sometimes with the most to say), delicate, subtle and often most perfumed of the Cote du Beaune Pinot Noirs. Drouhin’s is a sassy mélange of strawberries (and a range of strawberries from tart to sweet in the same sip), Rainier cherries, rose-water, and acacia with a supple, pursing texture. -BH
