Encosta da Estrela Dao White 2015

A blend unique to Portugal, this snappy white is made from the Bical, Malvasia-Fina and Cerceai Branco varieties characteristic of the Dão region. Cultivated on the foothill slopes of Serra da Estrela, mainland Portugal’s highest mountain range, this is a dynamic white wine true to its altiplano upland roots. This means an appealing structure whose balanced acidity charms with its delicate, fruity aromas. This is a white wine that could set just about any table but it goes especially well with Queijo Serra da Estrela, one of Portugal’s best loved pastureland cheeses from the Serra da Estrela region. Made from mountain grazed sheep’s milk with cardoon thistle rennet, it is an exceptional treat but any sheep’s milk will be a treat with this wine.
