Fevre Chablis Bougros Cote Bouguerots Gr Cru 2009

Heaven help us ever appreciate Petit Chablis again. The view is serene from the slopes of Grand Cru –especially from the steep (>30%) slopes of Bougros that face due south. Remember the lay of the land for Grand Cru Chablis? From the Sereine River facing North, Bougros begins the fanning out of seven Grand Cru vineyards that redefine everone’s respect for scintillating Chardonnay. Between its southerly aspect and that its soils aren’t really made of soil but limestone pebbles and clay, this is low yielding and immensely powerful in the realm of Chablis, tasting of the very minerals it is planted and penetrating to the soul. Bright lemon peels, apples and quince, tremble before the Kimmeridgian limestone before them. Definitive Grand Cru to redefine what one can expect from this world and provide a taste of what might lay in store for those who are especially good to the common wheal.
