Fevre Chablis Bougros Cote Bouguerots Gr Cru 2008

Ten years prior in 1998 Fevre was the first estate to use Bougerots & Vaulorent. Bougros Cotes Bougerots achieves its character from steep southerly exposure above the limestone beds of the Serien that casts the die of the finest wines of Chablis. Winemaker Didier Séguier, was quick to point out the “dry minerality, pure richness, and high aging potential.” Meanwhile I savored its lime and lanolin, iodine and limey flinty aromas on the taut promising palate. Didier’s words grounded me from the reverie in this glass explaining how this is a “masculine wine with a core of richness but never heavy because Chablis can keep freshness and elegance.” A visit to Chablis could convert any skeptic of terroir and forever change their course in life.
