Enrique Foster Firmado 2005
From vines averaging more than 60 years, this wine is hand harvested and specially selected from the old vineyards (1919 and 1966) located in Mayor Drummond and Las Compuertas, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, at 900 and 1,060 mts above sea level. To achieve an ideal concentration of aromas and tannins, the production has been reduced to low yields bearing such concentrated fruit that this wine needs to rest in both oak and bottle for a good length in order to tame this Argentine stallion. 15 months in new French oak barrels and 12 months in bottle still achieve a deep red color, a complex nose with red fruits, spice aromas and an elegant touch of oak. Excellent with cheeses, pasta and roast or grilled meats, Enrique Foster Firmado is proof of Malbec's nobility and a sure answer to ones desire for an Argentine red of even bolder concentration.
