Gaillard Cote-Rotie Rose Pourpre 2006
The color is very dark; purple, red. The nose is fascinating; pomegranite juice and grilled meats and prunes; the texture is silky but a bit rounder. The fruit's sweet; sweet ripe fruit but not overripe.

This delivers a muscular beam of mulled black currant fruit and fig paste notes laid over supersupple tannins, with black tea, espresso, spice and charred applewood notes filling out the long, dense finish. Impressive. Best from 2010 through 2020. –JM
"Mid ruby. Black pepper stew! Lots of vivacity. Yet some classic satin texture too. This should age very well and in a more classic way than the regular bottling. Drink 2014 - 2022."
