Garofoli 2010 Piancarda Rosso Conero, Marche, Italy | A proud 100% Montepulciano from the glorious Conero –the distinct, many argue superior, sub-appellation within Rosso Piceno that spends one year in large oak casks –respecting both the variety and the region by letting each shine. A lingonberry/cherry compote and a woodsy spice make a wondrously balanced, textural red born to get along with most every dish around the table.

Seriously anything tomatoey sings with Sangiovese, pizza and pasta to be sure. Sausages, chicken, gazpacho. Bread salad.
