Fairview Goats Do Roam Red 2016

Check out the blend on this wine: 72% Syrah, 13% Cinsault, 7% Mourvedre, 4% Carignane, and 3% Grenache. How about that! This blend of grapes is similar to what you'd find in the Cotes du Rhone area of southern France, hence the name of this South African gem. Like a great Cotes du Rhone, it's brimming with dusty raspberry and mellow herb aromas. A bit of pepper frames the fruit on the taste, which is medium bodied and seamless. On the finish, it lifts up and gets bright -- a trait rarely found in Rhone style blends from outside the Rhone Valley. Because of this lift, it's perfectly suited for all sorts of dishes -- huge versatility is a hallmark of this wine. Enjoy with slow roasted red meats, poultry, and lamb dishes.
