Guigal Gigondas 2015

Made from 65% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, 15 % Syrah planted forty years ago to ancient alluvia, red clay and gravel on the slopes, this Gigondas was harvested by hand and then spent two years in oak foudres of which 50% is new oak -all built by Guigal's very own cooperage.

A purple dry red wine with an intense nose dominated by peach and apricot with liqorice and notes of undergrowth. Generous, powerful and full-bodied on the palate with a long elegant finish. It embodies Gigondas with a frank attack, racy acidity with a soft tannic structure that beckons for food.

Expert Review

90 Wine Advocate | eRobertParker.com #216 - Dec 2014

The 2011 Gigondas has lots of kirsch, sweet cherries, spice and cedar wood to go with a medium-bodied, perfumed, Provencal style. It should drink well for a decade or more. Jeb Dunnuck.
