Guigal Crozes Hermitage Rouge 2017

Sustainable | From the varied limestone, clay and silt and sandy gravel of the steep slopes among the villages of Gervans, Mercurol, Larnage of Crozes-Hermitage, this dark 100% Syrah proves a handsome marvel of a Crozes-Hermitage worthy of 18 months in oak barrels yielding a meaty red of fragrant black pepper, sandalwood and roses that convey themselves on the palate in a high toned spice box, a texture one wishes to keep on one’s tongue and a balanced equipoise that haunts the finish –a Crozes-Hermitage worthy of the high table, fine cuts, and even the patience of a cool cellar –though it is not necessary in order to enjoy it. This is like an aspiring Hermitage –it’s complete!
