Hautes Noelles Muscadet Cotes de Grandlieu 2010

To my mind these are the flavoured vineyards sites of Muscadet. The area is only 717 acres of the 32000 cres in the general appellation and the influence of the large shallow lake moderates the climate to ensure even ripening; not a given in Muscadet. This as well as the granite and shist soils produce wines of great minerality and a notable flowery fragrance. In the 2010 the minerality is high enough to yield a mouthwatering, yummy wine. Alcohol 12%. Notes by LAC. 9/20/2011.

Food Pairings

Oysters, mussels, clams anyway but particularly raw. Salads, shrimp and seafood.
