Nora Albarino Rias Biaxas 2010

Ah! Poached apricots greet the nose as only Albarino can do. At once bright and snappy as a sauvignon blanc but also as creamy as a fleshy viognier. Welcome to the signature white variety of Rias Baixas in Spain's northwest. A land of Celtic history known as Galicia where folks still know a bit of Gaelic and some still play the Irish bag pipes. Who knew? What matters most is this snappy almost eucalypt white wine is summer in a glass and quenching my mighty thirst in a refreshing way.
