Miro Petite Sirah 2006

The color alone of this wine should be a giveaway to what is to come. It’s not often that you see something quite this purple! At first go the nose gives up blueberries, currants and blackberries, but after letting it sit for a solid twenty minutes to open up it evolves into wild aromas of BBQ and even this crazy salty soy. The palate doesn’t disappoint either. This is one big tannic monster, but with wonderful richness and a bright high toned mid-palate. Grape-a-licious! -Wine review JL, May 2009

Expert Review

88 Points - "An extra bit of creamy oak goes a long way in sweetening the mildly peppery, blackberry-like aromas of this inviting youngster, and, if sufficiently tannic to convince that it is Petite Sirah, the wine is no more than appropriately so and is defined more by its deep, concentrated fruit than by its toughness. Still, it has a few edges to lose and is not yet ready, and three to five years in the cellar should set things right."
