Javillier Meursault Cromin 2010

Patrick Javillier 2010 Clos du Cromin Meursault –need one say more? Javillier the anti-Meursault Meursault vigneron makes wines of such finesse and poise that "grace" can once again enter the discussion of this worthy region. Meursault from the 60 year old vines of Clos du Cromin that rest at the very start of the hill of Volnay foster unparalleled wines. Javillier reminds us that Clos du Cromin’s “aromatic power and its exceptional balance make it one of the “Grands Seigneurs” of Burgundy. The nose is expressive with fruit notes. On the palate there are more fruit notes, particularly apple and pear. The palate is round and displays attractive freshness. This wine is balanced, pleasant and persistent on the palate. This is a Grand Blanc de Garde. Its style is classic Meursault.” To my palate this is crystalline without edge, penetrating without force, consuming without regret, while this wine engages the senses with fresh taut melon fragrance, orchards of fruit upon mineral bedrock –but all in an equipoise unique to Javillier. Solid gold –it’ll change your life.
