Jim Barry Lodge Hill Riesling 2011

When produced in the Clare Valley, I believe Riesling to be Australia's most distinctive white wine. The fragrance is a persictent white pepper and lemon grass; more then a passing resemblance to a fine Pinot Gris from Alsace. The flavours are of the Mosel; stoney, dry with a spicy acidity to the finish. Alcohol 12.5%. Notes by LAC. 9/20/2011.

Expert Review

"Quintessential Clare and from one of the highest cool climate vineyards in the region. Tight and bright, aromatic grapefruit, lemon and lime on the nose and palate, brilliant acidity and a crisp, dry finish."
Kerry Skinner, Illawarra Mercury, 27 July 2011
