Coltibuono Chianti Classico Riserva 6/750 2007

Chianti Classico Riserva by which to set the bar, Coltibuono is a work of art from the very Medici Family that have been patrons of great art from time immemorial. Every thing is at once full and subtle, like an eloquent genius who not only sees beyond our world but can describe their discoveries in plain language we can understand. Everything one looks for in the finest Chianti is here: tea leaves, leather, alpen forests, sweet and sour cherries, evergreen herbs, a depth of earth and a mineral core -and then there's the texture and flex of it all! This is a taste it to believe it sort of Chianti that may have redefined my whole appreciation for the Classico Riserva category.

Seriously anything tomatoey sings with Sangiovese, pizza and pasta to be sure. Sausages, chicken, gazpacho. Bread salad.
