Coltibuono Chianti Cetamura 2011
Named for an Etruscan settlement on the Badia a Coltibuono property, Cetamura is a traditional blend of 90% Sangiovese 10% Canaiolo combining the nervy red fruit of the Sangiovese with the tempering Canaiolo which softens the tannins and imparts a fruit all its own. Grown in a variety of the best parcels throughout Chianti, Cetamura embodies each vintage in Chianti as a whole –and in 2011 with its early budding, long maturation and generous development, this red has plenty of character ranging from scents of black tea leaves and red cherries to such flavors to match, and a nimble structure whose chewy tannins and bright, nervy acids make for an elegant and appetizing appellation Chianti.
Wine review by Nicholas Livingston, May 2013
This is the modest offering from one of my favorite Chianti producers. This is not all their homegrown fruit but well selected from neighbors and made with the same talent and TLC which yields a fine Chianti at a very modest price. The nose is the typical Cherry and Cedar nose with the emphasis on the cedar. Soft entry with plenty of lively fruit flavors and length enough to be pretty with any tomato sauce. 13% ALC.

Bright light red. Enticing aromas of red cherry, cinnamon, flowers and licorice. Juicy and vibrant in the mouth, with harmonious acidity framing the red fruit, spice and floral flavors. Finishes long and crisp. Great entry-level wine.
