Liger-Belair Richebourg Grand Cru 2014

1.36 acres under vine planted in 1936 | This this parcel is considered to be one of the greatest Grand Cru of Vosne-Romanée. It is also the oldest, located in the historical share of Richebourg, in the south of this title (not in "the Veroilles") and around fifty meters in the north of the famous Romanée.

Expert Review

94 Burghound
This is also brooding though again aggressive swirling liberates exceptionally fresh and intensely floral aromas that also feature notes of various red berries and a beautiful array of spice notes that include anise, hoisin, soy and sandalwood. There is extraordinary intensity to the mineral-driven, focused and powerful imposingly scaled flavors that are tightly wound around a core of ripe but very firm tannins before exploding in a mouth coating and palate staining finish. This is a classic Richebourg and presently very austere that will require at least 12 to 15 years to shed its considerable tannins. Drink 2023+.

93+ Vinous
Deep medium red. Deeply pitched aromas of dark berries and cinnamon. Dense and superconcentrated but extremely backward today, hinting at both superripe dark fruits and pimiento. Best today on the very long, building, sappy finish, where the strong spice element dominates. This, too, is extremely backward and will need a good decade in the cellar to put on weight.
