Bodegas Luzon 2012 Luzon, Jumilla | 14.5% | 70% Monastrell, 30% Syrah | Protected from Spain’s southeastern extremes, the Luzon vineyards are tucked among the mountains of Jumilla in the Hoya de la Carrasca valley allowing the grape clusters to ripen to a fragrant concentration. Roasted notes herald a smoky dark fruit and allspice that pull one in from the nose to savor a palate of muscular fruit, a well burnished mouthfeel, and ample fruit through the finish –this is a wine for one who appreciates ristretto espresso with a stroke of citrus rind.
