Marques de Caceres Reserva 2008

Stunning that a wine two years in oak and two years in bottle can express such strength and youth. Mainly Tempranillo, this Reserva has a lot of fruit scents and flavors but a spice cake nuance and a compelling earthen cask note that sings of Spain and represents Rioja like an eloquent ambassador who can charm all they encounter. Toothy grip and salivating acidity belies the leathern cured tobacco, and piney forest floor that bares a nice core of fruit. The finish is lasting and yet fresh.

Food Pairings

A splendid bottle to marry with savoury fish dishes such as fresh tuna in spicy tomato sauce, refined delicatessen products (chorizo, salami), all kinds of beef (roasted, stewed or grilled), foie gras, duck, patridge, game and mature cheese.
