Rivarey Rioja 2016

Peppery plum scents and a snappy structure incorporating ample tannins combine with a fragrance that permeates one’s palate. It charms throughout –so that one cannot but help notice our dear Rivarey (now a Crianza) has clearly matured into a classy Tempranillo no longer relying on its fruity appeal but bearing a developed character and depth of savory character too. It tastes like it was elevated in big oak foudre bearing a noble profile which now more than ever tastes far more developed (and expensive) that the simple fruit bowls at this echelon.

Food Pairings

Very versatile. The better cuts of lamb. Most any meat braised or stewed. Game birds and poultry, especially duck.
